Seventeen of 56 submitted cases are selected by the jury as possible winners of an award at the Effie gala June 8th., 2004. Sara Lee/DE is together with WAAC’s nominated with Senseo: a new concept of making coffee.
The Effie is originally an American advertising award for effective communication campaigns, and in the Netherlands it is organized by VEA/Vereniging van communicatie-adviesbureaus and BVA/Associatie Nederlandse Adverteerders. It specifically addresses a campaign’s effectiveness. To be eligible for an Effie, a campaign must realise a quantitative difference between market results scored at two moments. This difference must be clearly attributable to the campaign’s communication efforts. Moreover, the degree to which originality and creativeness contributed to positive scores in relevant focus groups is also a factor in the jury’s assessment. For this reason, the Effie is considered the most stringently judged and most sought after award in the communication industry.
